2. 3. PRELIMO fighters v/ere informed by the people that the enemy was repairing the road ANTONIO-MAUA. On the 25th of May, one group of saboteurs mined this road, in two different places. A car fell on the first mine and v/as destroyed. All the 6 soldiers in it v/ere killed. Next day another vehicle fell on the second mine and was also destroyed. The Portuguese gave up repairing that road. 4. On the 26th of May, a company of.FRELIMO troops organised an attack against the Portuguese military post of LITUNDE, in MTELELA. The attack was launched on the 27th at 5.20 am. and lasted for 45 minutes. Pour houses and one storehouse were destroyed, and many Portuguese soldiers were liguidated, by mortar, bazooka and machine-gun fire. 5. On the 29th of May, the guerrillas divided themselves into two groups and made 2 coordinated attacks, at the same time against 2 enemy camps, NCUALU and CKALAMANDA (in this last camp there was a special Portuguese force known as the "Overalls11 , because its soldiers wear a type or boiler suit) The attacks were launched simultaneously at 23 hours. According to the information received from the people of that zone,30 enemy soldiers were killed in the two attacks. 6. Prom the 23rd to the 28th of May, PRELIMO guerrillas persecuted a big enemy group which v/as moving towards CHIPOTA. The intention of the Portuguese was to build a road and a bridge over the river MSANGULA. On the 28th, the guerrillas, after studying the movements of the enemy,, and the place v/here they slept, decided to attack at 3 am, with bazookers, grenades and machine guns. The attack lasted for 15 minutes. After the attack our fighters withdrew and organised and.ambush on the road leading from site of the attack to the village of ANTONIO. At 7 am. the Portugi'eae were returning to that village in 4 lorries, carrying their dead and wounded. They were' caught in the ambush and the first and fourth lorries were destroyed.
