- 14 - According to the Portuguese belief, the African black man cannot govern himself but he must be governed by the white man forever. .This philosophy is set on false principle because it is not true that a black- skinned man does not have the ability and intellectual faculties enjoyed by men of other races. How democratic is Portugal? Krushchev accused Stalin of monstrous crimes perpetrated under the political police, the Cheka, which later came to be the MVD„ Salazar has his own Cheka, the notorious PIDE' (International Police and Defense of State). Portugal is as democratic as Nazi Germany. Hitler glorified the master race and devised his "final solution" for the non-Aryan people. The gruesome and gory details of the "solution" is one of the biggest stains on the history of Europe. It is too disturbing to the conscience of the Germans, now supposedly reformed and comforting themselves with the confident gait of men with a buried past. In the days of Hitler the Jews were deprived of any profession. Many thousands were killed as mentioned above. The Portuguese deprive the Africans of any influencial jobs and literary life; they bar them from opening any kind of good business. Many of them, are being arrested and sentenced secretly. Hitler disappeared but his glorification of the Aryan race and colonialism Still remains alive in practices. Germany as a democratic country should" cooperate in programs of self-determination for the peoples who are still being deprived of their freedom. But unfortunately not only does she not cooperate but also gives, her.aid to those nations which are not willing to see other people free. How can the Africans forget? The same Germans are continuing Hitler's nefarious deeds, not in 'Europe, but in Africa. Bonn openly consorts with Salazar. Every Deutsche mark that enters Salazar's coffers promotes genocide in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea0 If they have reformedy then their actions should clearly show that they support those forces in Africa which fight for the rights of all peoples for peace and self- determination. In short, Bonn must support and champion African independence. This is the only proof of reform which Africa will understand.
