- 5 - And in chapter 8 of the same book Ventura inculcates that NATO should defend the territories of its signatory countries in Africa and the Union of South Africa. This is exactly what is happening now. The NATO weapons and bombs are killing our people today. We want our human rights and dignity to be respected. Because our countries are the best sources of riches, they want to keep them for their enjoyment* We do not ask for help, but we demand Washington, London, Paris, Brussels and Bonn to stop supplying Portugal with means and material which can be used in the extermination of our people. Let Portugal face its war alone and with its own means. He who defends Portuguese domination over our country does not want our progress. Portugal is not able to make any progress. For five centuries she has been exploiting us and up to now nothing has been done. When our country and people are free, we will progress by ourselves. We know that there are some Americans who are sympathetic to our struggle, who would like to see the oppressed peoples in the world enjoying their freedom, who would like to see the White House policy more congruent with its principles of democracy and more consciencious of its responsibility to Western civilization leadership. We ask those Americans of good will to help us make known to the White House that its policy toward the people of Mozambique is being led in the wrong way. PORTUGUESE REPRESSIVE MEASURES AGAINST THE MOZAMBICAN PEOPLE Metallic Airstrips for the Portuguese Military Planes Metallic airstrips are being built in different parts of the Mozambican territory inorder to serve the Portuguese Air Force in Mozambique in its destructive mission. During the "visit" of Salazar puppet, Mr. Americo Tomas, a Portuguese capitalist named Jose Lopes offered a metallic airstrip to the Portuguese air force in Mozambique. He declared that this offer should commemorate the "visit" of the Portuguese President to Mozambique. The airstrip is supposed to be used at Air Base No. 10. Mozambique is a reservoir of richness where the imperialists come to pick up what they need to fill their pockets and satisfy their appetites. The Portuguese administration works as an agent of these economical interests. Portugal could not support the price of war of these capitalist interests did not supply money and material to protect their interests.
