The following news are excerpts from many issues of Mozambican Revolution, FRELIMO's official organ published in Dar-es-salaam. In this country, FRELIMO is represented by Joseph Massinga who is responsible for this issue. People arrested in Mozambique While Portuguese delegates tell lies at the United Nations about what is going on in the territories under their administration, some of them arrest add kill many people in Mozambique. According to the Boletin de In- formaccar, number 3, issued by FRELIMO in Dar-es-salaam, Jose* Alexandre Honuane was arretsed in Swill Hospital on October 8, 1#63. He was accused of being responsible for the escape of Judar Alexandre Honuane, his brother. Samuel Moiane was arrested by the Portuguese authority In Malverina when he was trying to escape. As of now, no one of us knows what has happened to him. Cur people in Mozambique can not move form place to place easily without getting In trouble with PIDE (internation Police and Defense of State). T This deadly organization is spread all over Mozambique and neighboring countries, like South Africa and Rhodesia. About 10$ of the population of M Mozambique are employed in that organization. Why do they spend a lot of money in paying so many people, if everything is all right inside of Mozambique, as the Portuguese say? Why "none assimilados" do not have rights to property. According to Portuguese law those who are considered indigenous do not have any property rights. But when the Portuguese are attacked at the Uni United Nations, or else where , they publish other laws which seem to be in fevor of the indigenous. But really they do not practice them; they act differently frcm the purpose of these new laws. Let us have evidence. In August, 1961, the Portuguese Government published a law which ended "indigenates" the state of being indigenous and "chibalo", forced labor. But as matter of fact things are still going the same way they went before t that issue. A Mozambican man had a large farm In Zambezia District. His name is Sardwika. Near this farm was a white man vho vanteed to have that farm. Because he was a white man. he could encroach easily upon the black man's farm. He used the Portuguese authorities to help him against the black claim. The Chief of Posts, or Chiefo do Posto, called the black man and told him to assimilate. Otherwise he would lose his farm. "Those who do not have card-identification, the "none assimilados" may not have any rights to property", the Chief of the Posts said. To get such an assimilation is not an easy task. There aremany formalities to be decomplished. Many people are not able to do It. Therefore the majority of the African people do not have that identification card, are not addimilados. One of this group is Sardwika. He couldn't get that famous document. As- a consequence he lost his farm and the eager white man automatically became owner of the farm. It happened in 1963 when Franco Noguiera was speaking at the United Nations daylng that there is no difference between white and black. Both ftave the same rights; all are Portuguese. Joas de Luiz Bcurgard, administrator of the Beira is seizing many innocents Africans just because he and other government employees want to have servants, "mainatos" and cooks without pay. All these arrested people are obliged to work at the homes of the Government employees without any reward. But each African male must annually apy taxes of $300. How can they pay it if they do not recaive anything from their bosses? Psychological- Social Service. This organization was founded as one of means to stabilize and consolidate the Portuguese sovereignty in our territory, ^y this organization they try to persuade the Afrivan people to recognizee the Portuguese authority as they only law. In order to attain this goal they oblige the natives to- atten meetings organized by the Portuguese that any African politiacl movement whict wants to liverate Mozambique is not good. The Portuguese deliver- a heap of speeches in order to convince the people to revolt against Mozambi-
