7. NIASSA DISTRICT 1. On the 2nd cf July at 2 P.M., one Portuguese car trying to reestablish communications between Maniamba and Metangule v/as attacked by our militants and 30 colonialist soldiers were killed. 2. On July 6th at io A.M. a group of Portuguese soldiers coming from Nova Coimbra to Manda-Mbuzi v/as attacked. Twenty-five Portuguese soldiers were killed and one car was destroyed. One of our fighters was wounded during the operation. CABO DELGADO DISTRICT 1. On the 6th cf July in the Miteda region, a convoy of six Portuguese cars was attacked by a group of peasants armed with grenades and home-made guns. On of the cars was destroyed, some Portuguese soldiers were killed and five cars escaped. On our side, one fighter was wounded. 2. On July 8th in Muatide region, tv/o Portuguese military cars v/ere destroyed. Some Portuguese soldiers v/ere killed and one of our fighters v/as wounded. 3. On 15 July in Mocimboa da Praia region, two buses transporting troops were attacked by FRELIMO militants. Our militants destroyed two cars and killed 50 Portuguese soldiers. There v/ere no casualties on our side. 4. . On 25 July in Macomia region, FRELIMO militants ambushed a convoy of three cars. Tv/c of them v/ere destroyed and the third escaped. The Portuguese troops in the cars did net respond to our attack. On the same day our militants ambushed a car and destroyed it. C. ) decided to proclaim the beginning cf direct action against Portuguese colonialism in Guinea called Portuguese. The start of the armed struggle in Guinea (Bissau) gave a new impetus to the movement for the emancipation of the peoples of the Portuguese colonies.
