. 12. "It is difficult to believe that this conference will net reject the contention of the imperialists that they are entitled to decide what form a struggle of national liberation must take. If we were to accept their contention, we, the- people of Africa and Asia, and the freedom fighters of South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Portuguese Guinea and Zimbabwe, would have to abandon great parts of our continent and many millions of our people to perpetual slavery. This we will never do. -and even if we become so lost to honour,and humanity as to do so, the peoples of these countries would ignore us and in spite of us continue their struggle for national liberation alone.... "Our main preoccupation at this conference should be to strengthen cur solidarity. It seems to me that the main task is to find answers to the problems of organising our solidarity, of mobilising our peoples and of giving impetus to the peoples' will to peace and social change. "Just as disunity in our ranks retards the struggle against imperialism, so the agents of neo-colonialism who ride on our backs to influence and power, giving false homage to our solidarity, must be regarded as retarding the struggle against imperialism. There is one test and one test only for our solidarity: Do we mobilise and rely on the people in the struggle against imperialism in all its forms, or do v/e relegate the role of the mass of the people to a secondary place in this struggle? I say that only the mass of the people can ensure victory in our struggle.." ********* SOUTH AFRICA DAY June 26 - A Day of Rededication That South Africa is a country of the most humiliating colour discrimination, inhuman national oppression, bitter and fierce political and social strifes and conflicts in a well-known fact throughout the world today. The 12 million African people in South Africa and the other sections of the non-Whites - the one and a half million Coloured people and the half million Indian community - are in the grip of a bitter struggle against White domination and fascist terror and brutality. The struggle of the African people in South Africa against foreign invasion and domination began as far back as the fifteenth century. Their struggles have always been accompanied by bloodshed and massacres perpetuated by the well-armed White invaders and oppressors....
