• 2. zones of Mozambique. The people are impatient. Refugees who recently arrived at our headquarters bring a message from the population of Southern Mozambique. They ask FRELIMO to give them arms. They say that the toll of arrests and murders carried out by the colonialists has strengthened their determination to fight. They declare that they are ready to make all sacrifices in order to liberate themselves from the net of police encirclement under which they live and by which they are constantly terrorised, to end exploitation and misery and to win their freedom. The divisions among our people., fomented for centuries by the colonialists according to their principle of "divide and rule", are gradually disappearing due to our policy of political education. Mozambicans from all parts of Mozambique today fight side by side against the common enemy, Portuguese colonialism. Our people are like a sea: when high tide come, represented by the joint and simultaneous action of all Mozambicans, that will be the day of our independence. *********** ' ' ' THE COMMITTEE OF 24 The results of the work of the Committee of 24 of the Ujiited Nations, which met in Dar es Salaam from May 30 to June 10, was more positive than we had expected. The Committee approved a resolution in which it: . - .._ "1. Reaffirms the right of the populations of the African territories under Portuguese domination to self-determination and independence and recognizes the legitimacy of their struggle to achieve the rights laid down in the United Nations Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Sights and the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples; "2. Appeals to all States and requests them to grant the African populations of'Angola, Mozambique, so- called Portuguese Guinea and other territories under Portuguese domination, the moral and material support necessary for the restoration of their inalienable rights; "3. Condemns the colonial policy of Portugal and its persistent refusal to carry out the resolutions of the General Assembly, the Security Council and the Special Committee;
