Referring to the Economic situation:
"In Mozambique there is no money at all;  therefore, nothing
can be done....In the golden ages, the wood of Sena, ivory and .
slaves supported the economic life of the Province.  Since the end
of the last century, there are railways, the immigrants to the
Rand and Rhodesia, and the so-called colonial products.... There is
a permanent insufficency of exports, which always stands at more
than one million contos below the imports, due to the 'continuous
development of consumption'..."
"There was never a policy of transports." "We are in a phase
of immobility." "Mozambique continues too confident in the messianic
advent of foreign capital." "The indigenous agriculture goes badly."
"Paralising crisi in the public sector." — these are other themes
which the deputy develops.
Lobato ends by saying:  "I must confess that I do not see
easy future days for Mozambique.  It is necessary that all the
Portuguese contribute for the Portuguese Miracle, so that our
hope of salvation be not in vain...."
It would indeed take a miracle to maintain Portugal's colonial position in Mozambique., and this is a miracle that FRELIMO has
vowed to frustrate.

Oja the occasion of the explosion of the second atomic bomb by
the People's Republic of China, FRELIMO congratulates the Chinese
people and government for this new and important success in the
field of nuclear weapons.
Nuclear weapons constitute an immense danger to humanity,
especially when they are in the hands of irresponsible governments
which, moved by their imperialistic ambitions, will not hesitate
to use them against weaker countries, subjugating them, with an
absolute disdain for human lives and for the very existence of
whole peoples.
There are imperialist countries possessing powerful atomic
weapons.  This means that a constant threat of aggression weighs
over all the people who oppose imperialism.  This is certain:  only
yesterday the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America
speaking about the South Vietnamese war said that the United States
did not have any policy restricting the use of nuclear weapons,
