MOZAMBIQUE LIBERATION FRONT G«v\ \A*Aaaa+*» te-^nl tox NO. 80 Reinforcements are constantly being sent .to Niassa and Cabo Delgado Provinces9 from the other provinces of Mozambique5 this allows the Portuguese forces to concentrate a large number of troops: never a. group of less than 100 soldiers is sent on patrol operations. This explains why, during the period beginning 21st November to 6th December, we suffered S casualties- 6 dead and 2 wounded. However, our forces are also growing. It is. precisely because of our strength £hat the Portuguese are forced to send reinforcements. But the more troops the enemy sends, the more losses he suffers. CABO DELGADO PROVINCE: 1. 2ist November, 1966: A group of FPELIHO guerrillas attacked Portuguese soldiers camped in the village of Chief DARUHBA, Macomia zone. 15 enemy were killed and several were wounded. After that attack, our turned back without casualties. soldiers fighters 2. 22nd November, I966: A group of Portuguese soldiers was camper1, near River MESSALU. Their mission was to rob cashew-nuts from the peoples1 fields. They were attacked by P.'iELIHO forces. Due to the casualties they suffered, the Portuguese soldiers discontinued their mission and returned to their headquarters. 3. 24th November, 1966: The people complained to FRELIHO guerrillas that a group of 45 Portuguese soldiers was stealing their goods in Haiembe, Mocimboa da Praia zone. Our guerrillas organized1 an. ambush in NAMGUTWA. 16 enemy soldiers wore killed and 7 v/ere gravely wounded. Our forces captured ammunition calibre 7,62, hand-grenades, rifle.?, and blankets. One of FRELIHO fighters was wounded. 4. 25th November, 1966: A group of Portuguese soldiers left HAI.1RUCIA (MUCCJO), commissioned to at back FRELIMO Branch in QUITA?.lA.JO. Our guorrillas were informed by the people on the approach of the enemy and ambushed them in/NCHIHB\TA, zone of Chief CHALI. The" enemy forces wore much stronger than ours: for that reason our guorrillas had to attack and retreat, Many Portuguese soldiers were killed. V/e lost 3 FTCLIHO militants v/ho fell in the battlefield; another v/as gravely wounded. 5. 28th November, I966: 3 enemy aircrafts intensively bombed the region of Hontopuez, killing several people among the local population- mostly children and women. 6. 2nd December, I966: The people complained again to our guerrillas
