This may involve specific steps such as the following: 1. Translate ideas into business terms. 2. Collect available facts bearing on ideas. 3. Screen ideas for value to the company and for practicality. This screening phase passes the small number of ideas that are "pertinent ideas." It is an important point of decision for "it takes just as much time to solve a useless problem as a useful one." Translation of ideas into business terms. The ideas should be expanded to define what is to be made, who will buy it, and the reasons for such a product in terms of the company's objectives.
