113 present program. A statement of the objectives which the company has set for its executive development efforts follows. The succeeding paragraphs deal with the planning phases in the implementation of its program and the techniques presently used in its program for executive development. This is followed by an evaluation by the author of the company’s program based upon observation and analysis of its total content. I. DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company is a subsidiary of the holding company known as the Bell System which owns ninety-one per cent of its common stock. Together with its own subsidiary, Bell Telephone Company .......,.... !scribers in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and ! the northern part of Idaho. Its operating revenues in 1955 amounted to $715,494,444 received from rates paid on 5,754,087 telephones in service.
