Gallardo requested a piece of land for the purpose of setting out grape vines. His first petition for the parcel had been granted in 1835 and he had started to work the land. But the City Attorney had failed to complete the steps to secure Gallardo title and possession, so that he filed a second petition in February, 1836. Parcel described as situated alongside the river and contiguous on the North to the lands of Antonio Aguila, on the South to the lands of Antonio Maria Lugo, on the East with the same river, on the West to the orchard of Antonio Reyes. 546 varas in length from North to South and in width on the South 325 varas from East to West, on the North 260 varas.; Original Spanish document: pages 186-189.
