Perhaps this is the time to t:,ally up Cupid's victims in the Korea I project. The old boy has been working overtime. First ther were ELAINE DULING and JIM B,lXTER, who had known. each other before joining the Peace Corps. They wer married during leave in Honolulu. Then there were JlLJIJ MOLTENBER.11.Y an RICK L.AYLIN who had also lmown eac other before joining, and who were married here in Korea . Seeing only the medical problems in Seoul, I had begun to wonder if there were really any any hea;t.thy volunteers remaining in Korea. I was pleased to see that the vast majority of PCV's in Korea are in good health and a re .adjusting to the environment very well. I have also recently had the opportunity · of go ing over PC/Korea's heal th statistics with the former d1rector of tee Medical Division, Dr. James Banta, who feels that otir health record is in line •With most other Peace Corps. countries.. Unfortunately this means that other countries have many problems as well. Therefore, my goal (with your cooperation) will be to make Korea have t he best health record. I was a.lso pleased with the response to the malaria program I talked about at the conferences. I will submit the list soon, so anybody else who is interested should drop me · a 1 ine. · il.. number of you are having illdefined problems which are beginning to effect your teachtng, personal life and interpersonal· relations. Some of you have said you are just pooped and somewhat crabby. At times these minor issues become magnified and out of perspective; at other times, whEt t may be a seemingly minor problem may turn out to be more signi ficant t han was expected. These types of things can be easily put off until they become mag- ·nified to such an extent that · (con't. on p.2)
