Photograph of a panorama of the San Pedro Harbor, showing lumber being loaded from ships to freight trains, ca.1913. Masses of stacked lumber are visible to both sides of a narrow channel which runs the width of the panorama. Towards the center, a small steam ship can be seen docked against the far edge of the channel. In the background, a warehouse can be seen which bears the sign "Pacific Wharf and Storage Co.". A second ship is farther right on the opposite side of the channel, where railroad cars can be seen packed with lumber. Still farther right, more freight cars can be seen on the tracks, these apparently filled with gravel or some other granular material. Towards the right edge of the photo, just across a dirt road which separates it from the rest of the shipyard, a large flat of dry, cracked earth can be seen, possibly a dried or drained section of marsh.
