Dear Mr. Greene:
I received while in Hew York your letter of
'arch 8th. Mrs* James at once wrote to you
answering all questions as to the planting.
In regard to the opening for large door in the
back of the garage we agree with you that it
is necessary to have some way of bringing cars inside the place. The only question in our minds
is whether it would be a better plan to bring them
in through the garage in the way you suggest or
to leave a broad space for gate in the still
unbuilt section of the street wall to the north
of the garage. While I don't perfectly remember
the shape of the land there, I imagine it might
be necessary to build a small wooden bridge
over the little gulley. Will you please consider these two plans ;carefully and let us
have, within the next few days, your opinion as to
which would be better—both from the standpoint of practicability, general appear^ncei
and reactive cost.
This summer we expect to reach the Highlands
not later than June twentieth and will want to
use the garage which, of course, will be finished, except for tile roof, by that time. You
might procure figures from Giadding-McBean about
