February 11, 1929.
Dear Charles:
I have seen Mrs, Prentiss once or twice since
she returned to Pasadena on January 15, and
the first lime I was out I was in her' bedroom
and she remarked that she loved the screen you
made for her.
She went on to say that she thought perhaps
what she did not like about the dining room
panels was the modernistic, tendency they seem
to show. She said she liked the style of the
screen, but did not like the style of the
panels, I knew you would be interested to
hear this.
She seemed to like the front entrance ornaments better this year and seemed pleased
that the white marble had been stained to
soften it.
I did not have time to talk with her about
them, but I notice she has two decor^^gdTvertical panels placed on the north Walloon1 *LL
either side of your picture. Needless to say,
I did not care for them in connection with
your rainting because they are in a different
key of color and rather hurt the effect of
your picture. I understand they were painted
by some woman artist, and I do net know whose
suggestion it was to put them there.
The house still continues to lock nice and
she says that she is always so glad to get
back to it. She told me they may be here six
months this time.
I have not seen Mr. or Mrs. Blacker since they
returned from the beach except to say hello to
Mr. Blacker, but did not have time to talk.
