Berkeley, Gal.
Dear lire. Thorsen:
I enclose design for Andiron for your Living Room and Jolly
Room. The design for Living Room I think should be of
polished Steel to natch bar of fireplace.
I have followed your suggestion in regard to height and
the notch in top for corn popper, but made a design to be
in harmony with the room. Most irons are made too high
for the opening of fireplace, so that they do not conform
at all to the purpose for whioh they are intended, that is,
to hold wood without shutting in the heat of the fire.
Hence the first design. This last design is a compromise,
but I hope it may please you. The cost is Fifty and 0/100
Dollars (§50.00) for Living Room, and Forty and 00/100
Dollars ($40.00) for the Jolly ^oom.
I also send design for Fender Stool, which Ur. Hall agrees
to make complete with upholstering, and except painting
and the cloth cover, for Thirty-six and 3/100 Dollars
($36.00), which I think very reasonable.
