My clear Si iter Hoose:
It was a great pleasure to receive a line from you as
you have been much in my mind since I found you were in the
states. I had hoped I might get down to Princeton, to see you,
but perhaps it would be possible for Mr. Hoose and yourself to
come to Washington and let me see you here. I should enjoy
taking you to chapter meetings in this neighborhood so when, oil
is convenient for you to come, let me know and I will try tifr.
give you a happy time. Our Most Worthy Grand Matron and several -
committees are meeting here on April 1 and will be with us for
several days. If you care to come at that time you would meet
many of the General Grand Chapter officers and members from all
parts of the states.
I know what a good time you have had 'with the members in
New Jersey. Although New Jersey is not under the jurisdiction
of the General Grand ^hap!:er, they have some delightful people there
and do splendid chapter work. Sister Carrier is one of my best
friends and I like her very much.
Now, as to the General Grand Chapter Assembly. I fear you
do not know that the meeting will be held In November, 1931. You
see, our assemblies are Meld in the summer time ordinarily, but
owing to the climate of Texas> it wmild.be Impossible for us to
meet there during the summer months so the date has been set for
November 1st at San Antonio v;ith headquarters at Hotel Gunter.
am wondering if it would be possible for you to remain
ites in order to attend this convention and I feel sure

if you could, arrangements would be made to assist in defraying
your transportation to Texas. If you are sailing from. San Francisco or Seattle, you could get a ticket with, a stop over which

would be welcomed as the delgate froi

I have just received a letter from your brother telling
of a plan to organize a new chapter in Shanghai. His letter i
mostly about the Order, but 1 presume they are well and bacv
their regular work again.
