Mr. and Mrs. Mel Chater; Patti Chater -- 15 years (bid to enter Sadler Wells Company); Lynn Chater -- 12 years; Kerry Chater -- 10 years.; Supplementary material reads: "South Bay or Monday early. Gershon. Illus. City desk. Ballet Honor. 3: San Pedro Mrs. Mel Chater and daughter Patti, 15, excitedly watch father Mel Chater, 1417 West Sixteenth Street, pen an acceptance note to Sadler Wells Ballet Company in London immediately upon receiving a bid for his daughter to enter famous company's Dancing Academy there. Patti, a four year protege of Rosalie and Alva ballet instructors here, dreamed of becoming ballerina with company when she had a standing part in Swan Lake two years ago. 4: Mrs. Mel Chater, daughter Lynn, 12, Patti, ballet protege, 15, and Kerry, 10, crowd around as father Mel Chater pens acceptance to Sadler Wells Academy.
