Club. 41/42: Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Webster Jones. 105/105: Mr. & Mrs. Henry Duque. 3/4, L / R: Mr. & Mrs. Harry Volk; Mr. & Mrs. Edward W. Carter".; Supplementary material reads: "Photo coverage for tonight's opening of Philharmonic Orchestra season. Photog., please go to the California club, 538 South Flower street, where Mr. and Mrs. Harry Volk are entertaining a large group at dinner in the club's Fireside Room, at 6 p.m. tonite, Thurs., Nov. 14. Please ask for Mr. Volk and tell him we want a picture of him, Mrs. Volk and mr. & Mrs. Edward W. Carter. The Volks are hosts at the pre-concert dinner and Mr. Carter is president of the Southern California Symphony Association. This is to be a 4 col. feature picture. Then ask for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Duque and take an informal 2 col. of them. Mr. Duque is chairman of the board of the Southern California Symphony Association. (At Volk dinner). Also ask for Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Webster Jones and get a 2 col. of them (at Volk dinner, too). The Joneses are visiting here from New Brunswick, N.J. where Dr. Jones is president of famed Rutgers College. (Mr. Volk is a trustee at Rutgers & vice pres. of Southern California Symphony Association.... [continued]; Supplementary material continues: [Photo coverage...] Please show pictures to editor in charge. In turn the picture desk will process them and write captions for the city run tonight, for page one of the Society Section ... pictures to run 8 cols. across the bottom of the page, as dummy indicates. (Please ask Mrs. Carter, with whom I've talked on phone, to point out the Duques and the Joneses, or Mr. Volk will also, he told me via the phone). For caption material see Princess Pignatelli lead, which is in the Peach edit".
