Raymond Spencer (head of Palos Verdes rock quarries); Lieutennant Ralph Weyant (Commander San Pedro Detectives); Examining vertebra of whale.; Supplementary material reads: "Gershon; city desk; illus; old fossils. No 3 -- Raymond Spencer, head of Palos Verdes Rock Quarries, and Lt. Ralph Weyant, Commander, San Pedro Detectives, examining fossil remains of 20,000,000 years old whale found in the Rolling Hills Estates of the Palos Verdes Hills. Weyant was interested because of the preservation of bones in the earth in connection with crime studies. They are looking at vertebrae of the Miocene Whale".
