A much anticipated Olympic Games rematch is taking shape between the world's two greatest 1500 meter freestyle swimmers -- Murray Rose of Australia and Tsuyoshi Yamanaka of Japan. One-two at Melbourne, the pair hook up again during the International Invitational swim meet at the Los Angeles Swim Stadium on the night of June 27, first of three days of swim competition. Each appears to be in peak condition for the efford. Yamanaka, who arrives with the Japanese team Sunday, recently won the Asian Games' 1500 in a blazing 18:00.3. Rose comes off a sparkling performance in the National Indoor Championships where he won the 1500, 440 and 220, the same events he captured at Melbourne. Yamanaka is bidding for revenge, after losing narrowly to Rose in the Olympics and already has announced he is 'going for broke' in all-out effort to set a new world record. The standard now stands at 17:52.4. An invitation also has been extended to George Breen, the U.S. star who finished third at Melbourne. Breen, in face, holds the Olympic 1500 record, setting the mark in a preliminary event. Tickets are on sale for the meet at SC, Lincoln Savings, 630 W. 6th and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, 258 E. 1st St. #".
