Bill Smith (University of Southern California); Joan Seibert (University of California Los Angeles); Bart Sewell (University of Southern California); Mrs. Agnes Babcock (Anthropology teacher at Los Angeles City College); Charles Rozaire (Assistant Curator at Southwest Museum).; Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Gaze. Date: 1956-05-24. Reporter" Gaze. Assignment: Indian Burial, Malibu. #3-4: Anthropology students Bill Smith of USC, Joan Seibert, UCLA, and Bart Sewell, USC, painstakingly uncover an Indian skeleton in an ancient burial site just discovered at Malibu. #7: Mrs. Agnes Babcock of Tarzana, anthropology teacher at LACC studying for her doctorate in anthropology at UCLA, and Charles Rozaire, assistant curator at the Southwest Museum, beside four skeletons at the Malibu site. #9-10: While museum representatives and anthropology students of UCLA and USC and others probe into an ancient Indian burial ground at Malibu, currious residents, including cub scouts, watch the procedure. A bulldozer uncovered ancient Indian skeletons about two feet underground while preparing a site for a real estate development".
