Reporter: Emery to Santley. Assignment: $ 122, 898 new city animal shelter for Long Beach ( copy neg. of sketch by architect Kenneth S. Wing, Long Beach). Delux pooch emporium to be built at 3001 E. Willow Street on $122,898 contract, will be wood-frame, with concrete slab flooring, composition roofs; behind all the fancy frontage shown will be administration building, two kennel buildings and garage-and-storage building. This will replace city's antiquated dog pound, long a civic eye-sore, on LA River's east bank at 14th Street."
