American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation. 57th Annual Convention. April 6-10, Los Angeles, California. Subject: Representative Assembly of the AAHPER, Election of Officers. Place: Music Room, Biltmore Hotel. Two hundred official delelgates to the 57th annual convention of the American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation met this afternoon to elect new officers. The delegates are from every state in the union and the District of Columbia. Dr. Bernice Moss, retiring president of the association, presided. The incoming president is Dr. Clifford Brownell, Director of Health and Physical Education, Teachers College, Columbia University. Officers who were elected at the representative assembly meeting were: President-elect of AAHPER -- Dr. Ruth Abernathy, Associate Professor of Physical Education, UCLA; Vice President-elect for the Health Education Division -- Dr. Pattric Ruth O'Keefe, Supervisor Health and Physical Education, Kansas City, Missouri; Vice President-elect for the Physical Education Division -- Dr. Eleanor Metheney, Professor of Education and Physical Education, University of Southern California; Vice President-elect for the Recreation Division -- Hal W. Orion, Chief, Recreation Division, Veterans Administration, Washington, D.C.
