Dickens, American Legion; George Kotchnik, 13; Mrs. Clyde Tucker; Jim Hibbert, 17; Marilyn Prince, 18; Betty Massey, 13.; Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Mercurio. Reporter: Ostler. Assignment: Citizens of the Year. Rosemead. 19-20: Commander W.F. Dickens of the American Legion John Guess Post 452, Rosemead, presents Mrs. Clyde Tucker of 9254 East Pitkin Street, a desk pen set and certificate of outstanding public recognition. Mrs. Tucker was elected by popular vote Rosemead's Citizen of the Year for her devotion to park improvements during last year and all around community service. 61: Muscatel Elementary School 8th grader George Kotchnik, 13, also received silver medal for his service to school and community. He too, was named as one of Rosemead's Citizen of the Year. Thirteen-year-old 8th Grader Betty Massey and George Kotchnik of Muscatel Elementary School were named Citizens of the Year by the American Legion".; Caption slip continues: "150-151: Portrait of Mrs. Clyde Tucker, Rosemead's Citizen of the Year. She is the wife of retired LAPD Captain Clyde Tucker. 107: Mrs. Tucker seen with collection of police night sticks which she collects as a hobby. She also is a collector of pistols. 106: Mrs. Tucker in Rose Garden in Rosemead's Park where there are more than 200 plants obtained by her. 7: For outstanding service to school and community Rosemead High School students Jim Hibbert, 17, and Marilyn Prince, 18, both of Rosemead, were awarded gold medals and named 'Citizens of the Year' by the American Legion John Guess Post 452, sponsors of the annual affair. 116: Jim Hibbert, 17, Rosemead High School senior on way to school".; Caption slip continues: "117: Rosemead High School senior Marilyn Prince, 18, young women's outstanding citizen of the year. Both Hibbert and Prince were selected by the school's student body. 201: Betty Massey, 13, Muscatel Elementary 8th grader, was named junior Citizen of the Year and was awarded a silver medal in recognition of her service to school and community".
