Assignment: Rug weaver, South Pasadena. 7-8: E.O. Wickizer, of 719 Fremont Avenue, who will soon be 74, is seen at rug loom putting finishing touches on a rug nearing completion. Wickizer, a retired newspaper publisher who for 20 years managed the Pasadena Record, took up the hobbby of hooking rugs four years ago as a pastime. He has been retired for four years. He came to Southern California from Indiana 42 years ago".; Supplementary material reads: "Memo for JHCStingle: E.O. Wickizer, 719 Fremont avenue, South Pasadena, is a man well in his 70's who came to SoPasa [sic] in 1910 and started the weekly South Pasadena Record (I used to work for him around 1916. Anyway, Mr. Wickizer, long retired, is now spending all his time making oriental rugs at his home. Having been a country newspaper publisher for many years and being so widely known, I think a picture of him by his machines making rugs would make good art for our Sunday San Gabriel section.
