Standing: Mrs. Max Messbaum [sic]. 13, 41, Left to Right: Mrs. Max Messbaum [sic]; Mrs. Joseph Cooper; Mrs. Harold Fleischer; Mrs. Sanford Adler; Mrs. Harvey Morse, Model; Mrs. Sherman Klein".; Factual errors: Sisterhood of Temple of Israel is, in fact, Temple Israel of Hollywood Sisterhood; "Mrs. Max Messbaum" should read as "Mrs. Max Nussbaum".Today (as of April of 2009) Mrs. Nussbaum (Ruth) is living in the Valley at 97 years of age. In her lifetime she has written, edited and translated many works from German to English. She is the widow of the very well-loved former rabbi of Temple Israel of Hollywood, Max Nussbaum (rabbi from 1942 - 1975) and was interviewed on NPR in 2007 about the a visit from Martin Luther King to speak at Temple Israel of Hollywood in 1965.
