Description	3 images. Train hobby...Live steam engines, 20 September 1951. Robert Harper (Chief Engineer for the "Little Engines Company" of Lomita).; Supplementary material reads: "Gershon. City desk. Illus. 1951-09-20. Train hobby -- Live steam engines. No. 1: Robert Harper, chief engineer for the 'Little Engines Company' of Lomita, is shown working on scale model of locomotive for David Rose, hobbyist, while completed model is in back of Harper. Rose's engine will look like completed model when finished. No. 2-3: Correct to every detail and built on a scale of one inch and one-half to the foot, this is exact model of modern live steam engine. Diesel fuel is used to heat water for steam. No. 4: Robert Harper is shown working on carriage for locomotive he is building in 'Little Engines Company' workshop in Lomita. Sunday at 2135 West 250th Street, Lomita, the Southern California Live Steamers' Club will hold annual meet and 'play engineer' all day long on 1,000 feet of track".
