Description	2 images. San Pedro (auto into pole), 25 August 1951. Robert Weatherspoon (fell asleep at wheel).; Supplementary material reads: "Gershon. City desk. Illus. Traffic thousands of volts. Robert Weatherspoon, 27, 1708 Falcon Court, Banning Homes, San Pedro, laborer, fell asleep at the wheel, he told police. This interesting situation was the result. A high voltage wire fell across the car, but other wires help up the upper part of the telephone pole which was sheered off at the base. Weatherspoon received a bump on his noggin. It happened shortly after 5 a.m. In one shot Edward Bilat is shown attaching chain to rear of car in order to haul it away from pole and to garage".
