Nos. 29-30: Five Civil Air Patrol cadets from each country -- Denmark and Norway -- arrived at Los Angeles International Airport today to visit Southern California as part of an international exchange program sponsored by the Civil Air Patrol and U.S. Air Force. Shown during welcoming ceremonies are: seated on luggage, left to right: Poul Bendixen, Denmark; and Hans Peter Oen, Norway, are greeted by Woodruff 'Woody' De Silva, L.A. International Airport Manager, while on-lookers are: second row, left to right: C. Don Field, executive assistant to Mayor Bowron; Lb Ankjaer, Denmark; and Lt. Col. Leon Leboire, Wing Staff California Civil Air Patrol; Third row, left to right: Hans Gunnar Bakken, Norway; Captain Sigmund Sandvik, Norway; Lt. Paul J. Tarnavsky, California CAP; and Capt. A.H. Jorgensen, Danish Air Force. The International group will be in Los Angeles until Saturday. Boys range in age from 15 to 18 and are accompanied by senior leaders from each country, making the entire party 15 in number. No. 11: Ten Civil Air Patrol cadets, five from Norway and five from Denmark, arrived today (Wednesday Aug. 8) at L.A. International Airport via Air Force C-47, part of an international exchange program sponsored by the Civil Air Patrol and U.S. Air Force. Exchanging official greetings are: foreground, left: Einar Ulstrup, Norwegian Consul in Los Angeles; Anders Krogvig, Norway; Ole Diderksen, Denmark; Preben Jorjensen, Denmark, bottom to top respectively; right foreground: Ryan A. Grut, Denmark's Consul in Los Angeles. International group will be in Los Angeles until Saturday. Boys range in age from 15 to 18 and are accompanied by senior leaders from each country, making the entire international party 15 in number".
