| Abstract | This study examines the experiences of a number of participants from urban community colleges with high percentages of students from underrepresented populations in Central California. The participants were involved in action research with the Center for Urban Education (CUE) at the University of Southern California. The purpose of the study is to explore whether action inquiry used by CUE brings about, or shows the potential to bring about, organizational learning and change, improvements in institutional effectiveness, and greater racial-ethnic equity in student outcomes. Over the course of eleven months between March, 2011 and April, 2012, developmental evaluation was used to investigate the impact of action research at Amarillo Community College and Las Flores College. |
