EEMED BY THE PRECIOUS BLOOD
ie vrrALVOiCE of PENTECOST TODA
1976: YEAR OF OPPORTUNITY
WHAT SORT OF FUTURE LIES BEFORE BRITAIN? CONTINUING ECONOMIC
GLOOM? EVER-DECLINING MORAL STANDARDS? THE BREAK-UP OF
SOCIETY AND FINALLY CHAOS AND ANARCHY? OR IS THERE A WAY
OUT?
The shape of tomorrow's Britain will be
determined by the action Christians take
today. "You are the world's seasoning . . ."
said Jesus (Matt. 5:13 Living Bible). "But
if you lose your flavour what will happen
to the world?" During the 30 years since the
war we have seen only too clearly what
happens when good men do little or nothing
to hold back the tide of evil. Slowly but
insidiously the forces of anarchy have been
spreading. Under the guise of freedom and
liberation vocal minorities have been able to
undermine the moral strength of the nation.
The moment surely has come for Christ's
men and women to shake off their lethargy
and raise a standard in the name of the Lord.
FAITH
The future belongs to men and women who
believe. Time and again in history communities and nations have been revolutionised by the empassioned prayer and determined witness of quite small companies of
God's people who were alive to the dangers
of the hour. Like Daniel in Babylon we must
set our faces against the laxity and degeneration of the society in which we live.
Daniel was outstanding simply because he
IN THIS EDITION
was prepared to stand out against the prevailing opinions of his day.
HOPE
"Best of all," breathed a triumphant John
Wesley as he lay on his deathbed looking
back on a life that changed the face and
future of Britain. "Best of all, God is with
us!" The Communists have a saying that
