Bishop Ozro Thurston,Jones Presiding THE CONGRESS THEME FOR 1958 The message of our Congress for 1958 is presented in -the theme: Therefore will not we fear. This message is particularly appropriate for study and re-affirmation by Christian youth and youth workers at this time. For it is the expression of biblical faith'that declares: that the Eternal God alone is Creator, Preserver and Redeemer of mankind: that Satan can never have the last say about the meaning of man's life or about the destiny of the world " that nothing in time can ever finally triumph over what is eternal; that nothing that is natural can ever ultimately destroy what is spiritual; that, therefore, the raging and even the tottering of the nations can never undo God's plan to save and bring harmony to all mankind through Jesus Christ our Lord. This is the faith that has triumphed over the world. He is doing a wonderful work there with a very fine group. God has blessed this church with six members in two weeks, as a result of his faithfulness and sacrifices to his work. In addition to this achievement Sister Frankic Roberts, his wife, has climbed the spiritual ladder to the office of missionary field worker and she is doing a wonderful work. Hc shall increase, but I must decrease. We must always remember that man can plant and water, but God giveth the increase. Visiting our services on May 11, were Elder Davis and wife, from Memphis, Tennessee. Elder Davis is pastor of the New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, formerly pastored by the late Elder Jerry Jones. Also visiting on that Sunday was Elder Butler and many others. We are very grateful that the Lord has blessed our Church Mother, Mother Mamie Roberts, to be able to sit with us again in our j services. Sunday, May 18, was Men's Day at our church. They used as a theme: GOD WANTS A MAN. Yes. God wants men and women to be witnesses for Him and let the world know that there is reality in serving thc true and living God and His power is just the same today as in the days of old. His thought was "Ye are the Salt of the Earth." Oh, how he did preach out of his soul. He made it so plain what salt really means. The message gave us a complete outlook on life, our duty as officers and workers for God and His kingdom. God came in and blessed our little souls. Special words of encouragement were given by our first lady Sister Beatrice Mason, wife of the eminent Bishop J. O. Mason, of Northern Illinois.
