Dr. Mattie McGlothen Ubrary / Museum THE OFFICIAL ORGAN OF THE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRI IN CHRIST '•The law of truth was In his mouth and Iniquity was not found In his mouth." Mo.. 2:6 Te shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." John e 32 ■ - VOLUME XXIX, NO. IX C.O.G.I.C. HEADQUARTERS, MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE SEPTEMBER, 1992 BUILDING DEDICATED It started a little more than two years ago, as the then newly elected Presiding Bishop Ford was gathering in strength and insight about the direction the Lord would take him. He went to the hill and declared it a holy and select piece of earth upon which he would build a major part of his program. The saints saw with physical eyes a hill covered with tall grass, virgin timber and a little stream running at the back base of the hill What did Bishop Ford see? Now we know! Friday at 6 00 p.m., the saints gathered to celebrate the raising of the steeple and the dedication of the cornerstone. The crowds were large and overflowed nightly at the past celebration of our founder. Bishop C.H. Mason's birth In Lexington, Mississippi, September 8-11, 1992, the saints gathered to also see what Bishop Ford saw with his spirit eye coming forth from the hill top. The Deborah Mason Patterson Multi-Purpose Building is now standing majestically under the wide Mississippi Mother Elsie Mason and Presiding Bishop Ford unveil the cornerstone sky. The building is more than a building, it is a monument to the scores of pioneers who made the Church Of God In Christ a creditable organization Presiding Bishop Ford felt the name of Deborah Mason Patterson was fitting because of her love for the Saints campus. During this meeting. Bishop Ford and the celebration committee scheduled the raising of the steeple and the dedication of the cornerstone as a crowning glory. To witness these two events the saints came to the annual tent revival at Lexington and heard a cadre of speakers, choirs and other sights associated with this great event. Bishop Ford and the celebration committee planned for a maximum event wherein the saints could enjoy both spiritual and natural activities. The area around Lexington is alive w ith talk about the effort our church organization is making.
