| Abstract | "Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra " is a work for percussion solo with large orchestra approximately thirteen minutes in duration. The work is scored for triple winds with standard doublings, four horns, three trumpets, three trombones, tuba, timpani, three percussion, piano (doubling celesta), harp, and strings. The percussion solo part is scored for five tom-toms, a concert bass drum, four suspended bells, and a bell tree. "Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra " received its premier on February 7, 2008 by Eric Guinivan and the USC Thornton Symphony under the direction of Donald Crockett. |
