| Abstract | Some schools have begun to integrate globalization in their curricular elements and organizational structures. These schools have also focused on educating students to become world citizens. This case study focuses on one particular school that has integrated aspects of globalization in their curricular elements and organizational structures.; This study reviewed current literature on globalization and outlines definitions of globalization as well as historical perspectives and background information. The study focused on the following components as a part of the examination: technology as an instructional learning tool, foreign language, problem solving/critical thinking skills, global curriculum, international programs, professional development, collaboration, and sustainability.; XXX High School was selected as the study school for this project. XXX High School met many of the selection criteria with a heavy emphasis on technology and project based learning. The research indicated that while technology is clearly embraced within the school, it is clear that both the students and staff also understand the importance of content area academics and focus on teaching, learning, and increasing student achievement. The study also revealed that classrooms have been organized to support the integration of technology and project-based learning. In a personalized learning environment, XXX High School’s curriculum emphasizes science, mathematics, and technology, and the staff uses varied teaching methodologies including guided discovery, teamwork, and project-based learning.; The school has utilized and integrated technology as a learning tool through both the traditional content classroom and the school to career program. The study findings indicated that XXX High School has a strong focus on 21st century skills, critical thinking, and student engagement. |
