| Abstract | Marching bands are rarely portrayed on the screen, and even less often in a starring role. As a background component, the use of marching bands in popular culture, and specifically television, has increased over the past ten years. The popular television series "Glee" featured the University of Southern California Trojan Marching Band (TMB) in the role of the fictional McKinley High Band in April 2010. The TMB accompanied actors Chris Colfer and Amber Riley in a highly involved marching band and cheerleading routine set to the Madonna and Justin Timberlake song "4 Minutes." |
