| Abstract | Westlake MacArthur Park has had a rich history, including the development of a Westlake community and a vital role in the completion of Wilshire Boulevard. The park has experienced a period of decline similar to that of other public parks, such as Bryant Park in New York. This project discusses park changes over time and analyzes the historic significance and character of Westlake MacArthur Park. Additionally, this project identifies the period of significance for the park and describes its character defining features. |
