| Abstract | It is common for parents to seek advice or attend parent education programs in order to help face the challenges associated with raising adolescent children. The goal of this research is to provide an opportunity for the parents of adolescents to express what their needs and desires are for the curriculum in a parent education program. This study proposes to survey the parents because their opinions and input are an essential component to create effective parent education programs.; This study analyzed the data provided by parents during a qualitative survey of the parenting needs of an adult raising an adolescent child. Data was collected from 30 surveys, 7 face-to-face interviews, and 10 public documents to assess the information, skills, and strategies that parents would like to have included in a parent education program. The results of this study support training parents to use authoritative parenting skills. |
