| Abstract | OBJECTIVE: To examine the association of racial/ethnic background on the views and experiences of clinical trials participants and willingness to return for prospective studies.; METHODS: 132 study participants at West Coast Clinical Trials completed a questionnaire aiming to examine their views after study participation and willingness to return for prospective trials. Fisher's exact test and correlation analysis were used to examine the association between racial/ethnic background on measures of the clinical trials experience and willingness to return for prospective trials.; RESULTS: A significant association exists between racial/ethnic background and respondents' trust of medical researchers and their reported experience, and their willingness to return for prospective studies.; CONCLUSION: Participants' willingness to return for prospective studies is associated with a positive first-time trial experience and having trust in the clinical team. Methods of improving the study experience should be employed to promote racial and ethnic minority group participation in clinical trials. |
