The RKO Palace's new vaudeville program, againexptnded to
10 acts, is well-balanced with
comedy, song, dance, acrobatics
and novelty.
Openers are Tenner and Betty,
expert lariat spinners who intersperse with their rope tricks.
Phil Bennett's "talking'5 crow,
Jackie, amazes with his repertoire
of bird calls, songs and whistles
at his master's orders. The Satisfies, three boys and a girl, more
than satisfy with^ their unique
vocal style.
Joan Brandon is a pretty, young:
magician who delivers smartly.
Her mixed-drinks routine is a
corker. Comedian Joey Karter,
new here, has good s tage demeanor but lacks top material.
The last five acts really dress
up the bill. Maria Neglia is a superb violinist. "Malaguena" and
"Hot Canary" show her adeptness
on the strings. The Albins are a
comedy dance duo who score with
iheir falls. They add a takeoff on
ventriloquists whXch goes over
nicely. "Korean thrusn. Florence
Ahn lifts her rich *s oejf r a n o to
classical and popular numbers,
wonderful to the ears.-
The two Slate Brothers, Sid and
Jack (brother Henry left the act
for "South Pacific" and films),
offer zany hilarity aided by tall
blonde Terry Lane. The Jefferys
are an acrobatic team who spin
and turn agilely on the bars.
