f Whatjoy there is in a year! . . v—7
From September to May we have struggled and the months are suddenly gone..
Remember? Registration-twice. Classes, classes and classes. Books. Men standing behind lecturns. Sleeping fit the library—a delicious sin» Shouting and pushing and loveins. Angry faces. Grim Faces. Tired faces. A smile._A grin. A hundred people laughing.
Remember about three weeks'ago when-you thought -it^ would never end? Well it has. Almost before the last soggy copies of this paper are picked up by the men from O. and M the seniors will have become alumni.
What glory there is in growth' Time and educatt^nlbave gathered together the beginnings of maturity and we have grown/muscling up out of the muck and fighting towards the sun. So far we're all pretty ragged and there is little fruit. Most of our energy has been spent sucking up t-fre" nourishment. _ :
*
But the time will come—the time will come when our roots will be deep. Then we'll be able to shake our fists at the people wiio shook their heads at us and we'll be able to show them the future-far beyond the profound discouragement of today. *
We've been hidden in the earth for years and now w&7e pushing the dirt aside. What hope there js for tomorrow1-"
