Jobs as teacher assistants open
Students interested in serving as tcacher assistants in local junior and senior high schools next semester should contact the Teacher Education Projects Office, 809 Jefferson Blvd., or call 746-2931.
Recruiting for the 40 open jobs, which pay $765 per semester for three hours work daily, will be completed within the next two weeks.
I ex perimental class to be held
Psychic Phenomena, taught by Terry Tang, will be the only Experimental College course offered this weekend.
The class will meet from
10 a.m. to noon Saturday in 230 Yon KleinSmid Center.
Arabs to sponsor charity dinner
The Organization of Arab Students will present a dinner tonight at 6:30 in the
Methodist Church basement, 817 W. 34th St.
Arab food will be served and the program will feature authentic Arabian music and a film about Libya. All profits from the $2.50 admission price will go to refugees of the June war in the Middle East.
Three computer classes offered
Three noncredit courses in Computer Sciences are being offered this month to interested students, faculty, and staff.
The classes are introduction to data processing and package programs, recommended for those who wish to know what is available in various package programs at USC; fortran programing. suggested for those who wish to become familiar with a scientific-oriented computer language: and cobol programing. recommended for those who want to become familiar with a business-oriented computer language.
Additional information mav be obtained from
the Computer Sciences Laboratory at 1010 W. Jefferson Blvd., or the Noncredit Programs Office by Friday.
Cheshire Cat to hold hootenanny
The Cheshire Cat will hold an open hootenanny tonight from 8 p.m. to midnight, in the basement of the university chapel.
DKA, cinema fraternity, will screen “Irma La Douce,” starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine at 7 and 9:30 p.m. in 133 Founders Hall. Tickets arei-75 cents each.
Jan. 15 deadline for fellowships
Applications for California State Graduate Fellowships must be submitted by Jan. 15.
Applications should be sent to the Sacramento office of the State Scholarship and Loan Commission.
Beginning next fall, these, fellowships will provide j
maximum payment of all tuition and mandatory fees for one academic year.
All graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, arts, mathematics, engineering, business and education are eligible to apply.
Applicants must be California residents, demonstrate financial need, and declare an intention to teach in higher education in California.
Scores from the Graduate Records Examination are also required.
A Bank of America checkbook belonging to William Steven end Maini M.^ Stone has been turned in to the Daily Trojan City Room, 432 Student Union. It will be returned to the owner after he shows proper identification.

Garfield Studio is now taking picture appointments for the fall se-me;ter graduates for the 1948 El Rodeo. Appointments may be made by calling the studio at 746-4418 or by appearing at the studio.
This year's El Rcdeo will have ex- . panded coverage of graduates, and as a result, we are encouraging the graduates cf the various schools to have their pictures taken. Some of the schools we are particularly seeking are Law, Medicine, Social Work, and Performing Arts.
Garfield is now also taking appointments for individual sittings for the follow, ing groups: Amazons, Chimes, Knights, Spurs, Esquires, group may chose its owit style of dress, but this style must be uniform for all members. Appointments for ?hese six groups ends Jan. 10.
Clubs and organizations are also reminded that activity photographs can be submitted. These photos should be fully identified and turned
into the El Rodeo office as soon as poss'ble.

Students interested in earning from S100 to S300 a month in part-time jobs on the Daily Trojan advertising staff should apply now to Dale Hilton, director of student publications, 303 Student Union.
The positions, to be open after the last issue of the fall Daily Trojan, are ad manager, assistant ad manager, classified ad manager, secretary, and any amount of self’s representatives.
Although many students do not realize it. the ads which appear in the Daily Trojan nnv for 98 percent of publication costs. The position of ad manager has equal status with the editor and gives this person the sole power of hiring and fir;ng his staff.
Il is Hilton’s responsibili-
ty to hire the ad manager who will in turn hire his staff. Therefore, anyone interested in this field, including advertising majors, should apply for ad man-| ager in order to get his hat' tossed into the ring.
