If whether or not the UCLA football team is really the best in the West this year is a matter of debate, USC should win hands down. The Trojan debaters tallied up two more big wins before the Christmas holidays, and this time it was partially at the expense of UCLA-
The squad took the sweepstakes award at the Western States Alternate Tournament held in Westwood. David Kenner and Larry Stein won their year's fourth championship by capturing first place j in senior division. In winning, they beat teams from Redlands University once and UCLA twice.
In the junior division, Ralph Lipman and Ron Gordon won third place, losing to the University of Loyola at Los Angeles in the semifinal round.
In the novice division. Sue Tanzman and Lana Appel ended up in a second place tie with a 5-1 record.
