Phillips admitted that pres-?ntly there is not a sufficient number of parking places available for on-campus park-ers. There are approximately 3.300 places, but the university is studving ways to expand these facilities.
The university is planning to rent a 450-car lot on Men-low Ave. which will be free to students. Also, lots on Jefferson and McClintock. and McClintock and Exposition are being improved.
Hopeful for Land USC also hopes to acquire the land adjacent to McClin-tock Street. Currently the university owns all land within the McClintock and Figueroa and Exposition and 34th street boundaries. All streets within this area have been vacated.
The university has lost one parking lot near Hoover the Blvd., however, where the new von KieinSmid Center
