TROJAN
Dr. Rufus Bernhard von KleinSmid, 88, Chancellor and former President at USC, is continuing to grow weaker in his fight for life, Dr. Donald A. Charnock reported yesterday afternoon.

Dr. von KleinSmid is suffering from pulmonary and cardiac problems, Dr. Charnock indicated. The Chancellor will be 89 on Saturday.
Several times in the past, Dr. von KleinSmid has been near death only to rally unexpectedly, Dr. Charnock said.
“Barring a miracle,” Dr. von KleinSmid will be unable to attend the site-dedication of the $2.8 million Von KleinSmid center for International and Public Affairs on Saturday, Dr. Chernock stressed.
