Air University Officers To Review SC Cadets

The Trojans will attempt to look their sharpest tomorrow in order to retain possession of the Air Force Association-Lockheed Aircraft Trophy awarded to the outstanding AF ROTC unit in the Los Angeles area. Last year SC took the trophy away from Loyola, which had won it the two previous years. \
Recent promotions in the unit were announced today by Col. James F. Seegers, cadet commander. Eugene Gelber was promoted to major and Ed Ripley, Stephen Anderson and Landon Exley were stepped up to captain.

Smith. Stewart Lee was promoted to technical sergeant.
Air Force ROTC cadets will pass in review tomorrow noon for visiting officers of the Air University, Montgomery, Ala.
The parade will be held on Bovard Field as part of the annual federal inspection conducted by ROTC headquarters. University President Fred D. Fagg Jr. will join Col. Byron R. Switzer, Lt. Col. Ernest J. Baucher and Major James M. Hughes in conducting the inspection.

Deadline for nominations in the Mr. Trojanality Contest, “the most outstanding Trojan,” has been extended until 4 p.m. today.
According to Chairman Ed Wilkinson, who made the announcement,, two members of the selection committee were in Kansas City Friday, forcing the deadline to be extended.
The committee will pick 35 men to run for the title of Mr. Trojanality this afternoon. Names of the men will ba announced tomorrow.
Selected contestants must appear at the Trojan Camera Exchange today between 1 and 5:30 p.m. for pictures. Appointments may be made by calling Richmond '2867.
Candidates may pick up an application in the student activity adviser’s office.
Voting will begin on campus Tuesday, Mar. 30, and will end Friday, Apr. 2, at 1 p.m. The voting booth will be open from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day during the contest. A “tote board” will give the contestants semi-daily positions in the race._____

Forty senior pharmacy students will tour the downtown Los Angeles plant of McKesson and Robbins, pharmaceutical wholesale house, Wednesday.
Robert Atkinson and Stanley Jones, president and vice-president of the pharmacy student body, will attend, as well as eight
members of the pharmacy student council.

working on plans to bring 3-D to the Coliseum.
With three-dimension, all spectators seated opposite the SC rooting section would be issued cardboard glasses to witness the stunts.

Band Gets $1100 In Five Hours
Trojans raised nearly $1100 in only fiv. hours Thursday to help pay for the 20-man Trojan Pep Band’s flight to Kansas City for the NCAA basketball games.
The university donated $2000. The Big Ten and Trojan Clubs, and alumni friends also mailed in checks and currency to support this example of real school spirit.
Among the contributions submitted Friday was a check of no small amount from the Tidewater Associated Oil Company.

Applications for student teaching assignments for the fall semester 1954 may be filed anytime during the week beginning today, Mar. 22. Students who plan to do directed teaching next fall should contact the Office of Directed Teaching in 353 Administration building at once to make an appointment for application and interview.
Those who have papers on file and have not yet taken directed teaching should reactivate their applications at this time.
