February 14 Set For Spring Introduction Of Deans, Officials
Troy’s gates will be officially opened to the class of ‘44 and other new students at the initial student body assembly on Wednesday, February 14. New students will get a preview erf SC campus life in the week preceding the welcome assembly from the orientation meetings of various campus organizations.

Deans to be presented include Philip Sheridan Biegler, dean of the College of Enginering; Mrs. Mary Duncan Carter, director of the Graduate School of Library Science; Ralph Tyler Flewelling. director of the School of Philosophy; Lewis Engene Ford, dean of the College of Dentistry; Roy L. French, director of the School of Journalism; William Green Hale, dean of the ' School of Law; Rockwell Dennis . Hunt, dean of the Graduate School J and director of the School of Re-| search.

The diesel-powered oruis-er was presented to the university a yeaf ago by Captain Hancock, who is a noted scientist and musician, member of a pioneer Los Angeles family, and president of the board of trustees at SC.

Activity Book Sale Begins At Registration
Athletic activity books wiil go on sale today for new student: at the cashier’s cage in the gym. Priced at $5.50, the books will permit students to see the remainder of the basketball games this semester, and admit them to a full schedule of spring sporte.
A copy of the El Rodeo, university yearbook normally sold for $5, will be presented free of charge at the end of the semester to any holder of a student activity book. Athletic events on the spring 1940 calendar are baseball, track, swimming, polo events, tennis, and rugby, and other ticket* are for play productions and other campus activities.
After registration activity books will be available at the ticket office in the bookstore, announced Leo Adams, assistant general manager of ASSC.
