qulsh the leader in the west. A decision tomorrow over Ihe Thundering Herd will give them undisputed title to the mythical championship.
On the other hand, the Trojans have a great season's record despite their early season loss by one point margin lo the Washington State Cougars. Showing more power and deception as each week rolled around, tho Southern Californians crushed the opposition with ease, defeating California, a traditional rival, by the greatest margin in history, and ending the season as the leading scoring machine in the country
PESSIMISTIC Kockne, an old veteran in the | ways of the grid, was handicapped j by injuries to some extent when ‘Moon” Mullins, a corking good fullback, injured his knee in the I ,-nni.* against Army last week and j from reports Issuing from the | Itockne camp will be unable to I play against the Trojans tomor-| row. This, coupled with the loss | of “Jumping” Joo Savoldl because of marriage difficulties, has caused the Irish mentor to lament over the misfortunes which have overtaken his team.
Using good psychology, the Notre Dame coach classes Ills team at present on tbe short end of tomorrow's affair. Usually pessimistic on the outcome of a big game, Rockne usually has enough grid tricks in the game to win. A brilliant rally over Northwestern recently helped lo prove this.
